Oso Leone is VIDA!

Oso Leone is the last local band confirmed this week. The Mallorcan-based band will be part of VIDA's 5th anniversary line-up along with the already confirmed Franz Ferdinand, St. Vincent, Iron & Wine, Calexico, Nick Mulvey, El Petit de Cal Eril, Medalla and La Plata.

Oso Leone returns after four years since the release of Mokragora (Foehn Records, 2013). Consolidated as one of the most outstanding groups in the Spanish alternative scene, the Mallorcan sextet presents a third album that will be released this 2018 where they promise to expand the electronic and r&b side of their proposal but maintaining the softness and the subtlety of their dazzling sound.

El Petit de Cal Eril is VIDA!

El Petit de Cal Eril is the new band confirmed for VIDA's 5th anniversary. A new name in the line-up that joins the other artists already confirmed: Franz Ferdinand, St. Vincent, Iron & Wine, Calexico, Nick Mulvey, Medalla and La Plata.

Two years after the release of the magical and evocative album La Força (Bankrobber, 2016), El Petit de Cal Eril presents Δ (Bankrobber, 2018). An album recorded in 3 different contexts - Guissona, Garrotxa and Brooklyn - where Joan Pons continues to draw the lines of his delicate and vital universe influenced by the traditional song, the acoustic folk and the psychedelia.

La Plata is VIDA!

Following the round of national confirmations this week, La Plata joins VIDA's 5th anniversary line-up together with the already confirmed Franz Ferdinand, St. Vincent, Iron & Wine, Calexico, Nick Mulvey and Medalla.

Original from Valencia, with only one EP on the market and an upcoming LP, La Plata has captivated the audience and the press with a battery of small pop anthems based on hyperactive tempos, a brazen attitude and a clear punk and new wave influence that inevitably reminds of Valencian scene of the 90s. An intense and contagious sound that the group explores for the first time in his EP debut Un Atasco (Sonido Muchacho, 2017).

Medalla is VIDA!

The Barcelona-based quartet Medalla will play at VIDA's 5th anniversary along with the bands confirmed Franz Ferdinand, St. Vincent, Iron & Wine, Calexico and Nick Mulvey.

Medalla, from the outskirts of Barcelona, is one of the most powerful emerging local bands that includes members of The Saurs, The Zephyr Bones, Rapaza and The Stagpies. Emblema y Poder (El Segell, 2017), his debut, explores an epic, sharp and challenging pop influenced by the krautrock, the metal and the psychedelia. A combination that finds its better version in "Caballero Triste" and "Montaña Cruces".

Iron & Wine, new VIDA's 2018 headliner!

Iron & Wine joins VIDA's 5th anniversary line-up as one of the headliners with the also confirmed artists Franz Ferdinand, St. Vincent, Calexico and Nick Mulvey. This year's edition, VIDA 2018, will take place from June 28th to July 1st in Vilanova i la Geltrú.

Sam Beam, under the alias of Iron & Wine, seduced the public and the specialized media since his debut The Creek Drank the Cradle (Sub Pop Records, 2002) with his relaxed folk, his warm atmosphere and his delicate harmonies. After having released memorable albums like The Shepherd's Dog (Sub Pop Records, 2007), the singer-songwriter from South Carolina returns with Beast Epic (Sub Pop Records, 2017), a sixth album that goes back to the sound of his beginning and that talks about the beauty and the pain of getting older.

A project that emerged with undeniable hits such as 'Mi Fábrica de Baile' and that this year has been renewed with the release of two new albums, Disco Duro and Las Nanas.

Pacosan, on the other hand, will bring to the party the vibrant songs of their last album Sour Mood. A record where the original group of Garraf explores more electronic sounds with which they redefine their sound but without renouncing their own essence, marked by the fusion of psychedelic sounds and dream pop that characterizes their songs.

An album recorded in the studies of Panoramic House in California and produced by Craig Schumacher that continues to explore their folk and americana sound but adding a little more chaos and noise in the mix. A new project that, before being released on January 26th, takes shape with “End Of The World With You” and "Voices In The Field", the first singles of the album.

St. Vincent, VIDA's 2018 headliner

After having announced Franz Ferdinand and Nick Mulvey, VIDA's fifth anniversary confirms St. Vincent as one of the headliners of this year's line-up. The festival will take place in Vilanova i la Geltrú next summer from June 28th till 1st July.

Annie Clark, known for her artistic name of St. Vincent, has turned into one of the most interesting artists of the current international scene. And there are plenty of reasons. With the release of her last album Masseduction (Loma Vista, 2017), the american singer-songwriter has laid card on the table with her most personal, emotional and critical album. An album that has hits like the first single and one of the ballades of the year, "New York", as well as the vibrant and surprising "Los Ageless".

Despite their short musical trajectory, the band has received their first recognitions recently winning the contest CreaMurcia 2017 of Canción de Autor.

Franz Ferdinand, confirmed as a headliner of VIDA 5th anniversary!

The legendary Scottish band Franz Ferdinand joins VIDA 2018  line-up -with the already confirmed Nick Mulvey- where they will present their fifth studio album, "Always Ascending", which will be published on February 9th, 2018! By now, they have already advanced the single that gives the album its name, a surprising theme that refers to 70s disco music.

Press review of VIDA 2017

After having lived four intenses and great days of music at VIDA 2017, we collect some of the impressions that the media and the press have shared after the festival.

"Ara i res", the new album of Mishima

It’s been three years since Mishima surprised us with L’Ànsia Que Cura (Warner Music, 2014) and, to be honest, we were anxiously awaiting their return. And finally, after giving us some clues with the singles “Qui més estima” and “S’haurà de fer de nit”, Barcelona’s quintet has released Ara i res. An eight album that was recorded entirely in Black Box Studio (France) with Peter Deimel and that explores, as they say, their most romantic but most disbelieving side, the most bare and the most felt, the most bright and the most dark. A record that we will enjoy in their performance at VIDA 2017.

VIDA CLUB, the new venue of VIDA 2017

VIDA CLUB is the new venue of VIDA's festival last edition. With a similar environment as the Wild Side zone but being open to the public, we will put in the spotlight a line-up formed exclusively by national and international DJs with club and festival residences, just like important stirrer cultural figures. With this, we are trying to thank all the clubs for their contribution to the music scene. We are so sure that, without them, the majority of the bands that play in VIDA wouldn't exist.
